About the Journal
Qalamos Heritage Studies is an international, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal published by the Qalam for Knowledge Production. The journal provides immediate and unrestricted access to all published content, ensuring that research is freely available to readers worldwide without subscription barriers. The journal does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees, reflecting its commitment to the equitable dissemination of scholarly knowledge.
The journal is established to bridge the distance between traditional descriptive heritage reporting and contemporary critical and interdisciplinary approaches.
Qalamos Heritage Studies publishes original scholarship that contributes to both academic knowledge and wider heritage debates. The journal supports research across multiple scales—from site-based and object-based studies to regional and comparative syntheses—and across multiple evidentiary traditions, including material culture, built heritage, textual corpora, inscriptions, manuscripts, and scientific analyses.
